The automated detection process starts with the computer
based recordings of the stations being monitored, which can
be a larger group than customary due to the reduction in
processing cost for each one. 30 to 48 signals are handled
by 2 or 3 computers (PC) for the selected time ranges, usually
5:50AM to 12:10 at night.
Additional computers generate the chronological listings for
the sound records in the reference bank matching the recordings.
This database is maintained by 1 operator for each 15 stations
and by automatic procedures. The accuracy rate for a typical
configuration is 98% (higher adding parts), with a very good
tolerance for noise, 2.5% speed variations, 1 missing track, and
changes in source modulation.
A management system complements the operations scheduling tens
of tasks like maintenance, statistics, backup, system-watchs, and
aiding in the operators and supervisor activities, and for client
requests.
In addition to providing the serial data to be imported by the
regular Database of the Media Monitoring Company, other systems
are also included for Verification and Investment Reports, Delivery,
and distributable software for Agencies and Advertisers (Campaign
planning and control with occurrence data).
